Cer Binasının müzeye dönüştürülmek istendiği bu projede; eski isimleri ile Galata ve Pera, günümüzde kullanılan isimleri ile Karaköy ve Beyoğlu bölgesindeyiz. Birçok dönemde İstanbul şehrinin uluslararası ticaret limanı olarak yer edinen bu bölgenin, en eski tarihlerden bu yana sayısız müdahale ve değişikliğe maruz kalarak günümüzdeki haline ulaştığını görüyoruz. Yine tarihi yarımadanın -kuzey yönünde- karşı kıyısında yer alan bu bölgenin güncel siluetine baktığımız zaman, göze çarpan en önemli öğe, kuşkusuz Galata Kulesi’dir. Bölge siluetini tek başına tanımlayan Galata Kulesi’nden sonra, bulunduğu alandaki diğer yapılardan ayrışarak siluette kendisini belli eden en belirgin binalar, bu projenin ana unsuru olan Metro Han ve Cer Binası’dır. Metro Han İETT Genel Müdürlüğü, Cer Binası ise Tünel hattının teknik hacmi olarak kullanılmaktadır.
Cer Binası, İstanbul İli Beyoğlu İlçesi, Asmalı Mescit Mahallesi, Tünel Meydanı Sokak’ta bulunmaktadır. Bulunduğu yapı adasında, Cer Binası ile birlikte, 1883 yılına tarihlenen Tünel Pasajı da bulunmaktadır. Yapı adasının güneyinde Tünel Meydanı Sokağı, sonrasında da Metro Han bulunur.

In this project where the Cer Building is intended to be converted into a museum; We are in the district of Galata and Pera with their old names, Karaköy and Beyoğlu with their current names. We see that this region, which has been the international trade port of the city of Istanbul in many periods, has reached its present state by being exposed to many interventions and changes since the earliest dates., When we look at the current silhouette of this region, which is located on the opposite coast of the historical peninsula - in the north direction - the most important element that stands out is the shining Galata Tower.
After the Galata Tower, which defines the silhouette of the region alone, the most distinctive buildings that distinguish themselves from the other structures in the area are the Metro Han and Cer Building, which is the main element of this project. Metro Han is used as an IETT General Directorate and Cer Building is used as the technical volume of the Tunnel line.
Cer Building is located in Tunnel Square Street, Asmalı Mescit neighborhood, Beyoğlu District, in Istanbul Province. The Tunnel Passage, dating back to 1883, is located in the building island, along with the Cer Building. To the south of the island, there is Tunel Square Street and then Metro Han.
